Why We Started Snackdesi

For many of us, the snacks we grew up eating are more than just food. They carry memories of home, family, and togetherness.

Growing up, Bihari snacks were at the heart of so many moments in our lives. They were the highlight of family gatherings, festive celebrations, and quiet evenings over a cup of chai. These weren't just recipes. They were traditions passed down from one generation to the next.

Like many of you, I moved cities and grew into new chapters of life, but I found myself missing the snacks I had grown up eating back home. Some flavours never leave our hearts.

It made me wonder, what if we could keep these traditions alive for everyone living away from home, while also introducing these unique flavours to people discovering them for the first time?

That's what inspired me to start Snackdesi.

Our idea was simple. To preserve the traditions and flavours we grew up with, and share the rich culinary heritage of Bihar and Jharkhand with people across India.

But authenticity doesn't come from a recipe alone. It comes from the people who make it.

That's why the snacks are prepared fresh in my hometown, Japla, Jharkhand, by local homemakers using traditional Bihari recipes passed down through generations.

Today, many local women are part of the Snackdesi family, preserving these traditions while supporting their families. Every snack is made just as they have always prepared it for their own families, and their dedication and craftsmanship are at the heart of everything we do.

From sourcing quality ingredients to preparing every batch with care, quality is at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is simple. To make every pack as fresh, flavourful, and enjoyable as the snacks made at home.

As we grow, our promise will always remain the same. To bring you the authentic taste of Bihar with the same honesty, care, and warmth that inspired Snackdesi from the very beginning.

From our kitchen to your home, with love, warmth, and the authentic taste of Bihar.
